The start-up performance of the diesel generator determines the subsequent work efficiency. Therefore, if you want the diesel generator to work hard, you must first solve this problem. When a diesel generator set is cold-started, the inability to reach the compression ignition temperature of diesel is an important reason that affects the starting performance. In this regard, hot water can be added to the engine cooling system to preheat, which is an effective way to improve the starting performance.

The specific approach is:

Continuously heat the water (let the water flow out of the cylinder), and gradually increase the water temperature to enter the small diesel generator set for preheating. When the temperature of the outflowing water is high, turn off the water drain switch. In addition, the oil pan can be heated by an open flame such as a blowtorch to improve the oil flow performance and reduce the movement resistance of the parts. It should also ensure that the battery has sufficient capacity and good condition. This also helps to improve the starting performance of diesel generators.

Improve the sealing performance of the cylinder:

One of the differences between diesel generators and gasoline generators is the compression ignition type, so the cylinders are required to have higher sealing performance. When the engine is cold-started in winter, there is little oil on the piston ring and cylinder wall, and the sealing effect is not good, and the phenomenon of repeated starting and failure to run on fire will occur. Sometimes due to heavy cylinder wear, the sealing performance of the cylinder is seriously affected, making it more difficult to start. In this regard, the injector can be removed, and 30-40ml of engine oil can be added to each cylinder to enhance the sealing performance of the cylinder and increase the pressure during compression.

Eliminate the air in the oil circuit:

Loosen the bleed screw on the high-pressure oil pump, pump oil by hand to drain the air from the low-pressure oil circuit; then, drain the air from the high-pressure oil circuit. The specific method is: unscrew the oil pipe joints on each injector, make the throttle at the maximum fuel supply position, and rotate the crankshaft until the oil pipe joints of the injectors of each cylinder discharge rapidly.
